Re: Darren Randolph - Deal agreed(ALSO THE ADRIAN THREAD)
The only keeper I can come up with willing to replace Adrian and sit on the bench is--

ADAM BOGDAN of Liverpool.

Points in his favour:
Not quite 30,so still has years ahead of him.
Was considered superior to Jussi at Bolton Wanderers.
No competition for his signature because no other bugger seems to want him,so should be cheap.
Third choice at Anfield,so will probably jump at the chance to be second choice with us.
Points against:
He's got ginger hair.

Yeah you can't go around asking too much for players , Daniel levy has already said it's unsustainable (how much did he ask for Kyle walker?)

Re: Darren Randolph - Deal agreed
Nearer to 10m than 3m could be 7 or 8. The clue is in the word "nearer"
He was our first choice last season and is now 2nd choice not 3rd.
5m for Randolph was fair in this market, not really a ridiculously good deal.

But have we sold him for that? No.

Sorry - thought this was a Randolph thread. £3m seems too low for Adrian

SurfaceAgentX2Zero 3:37 Wed Jul 26
Re: Darren Randolph - Deal agreed
Because £10 million for our slightly shit 3rd choice goalkeeper is NOT the going rate.

13 Brentford Rd 3:34 Wed Jul 26
Re: Darren Randolph - Deal agreed
So he has got more than a year then.

3m is ridiculously low. As I said nearer 10m is market rate. Why do we always get shit fees for our players?
Can we replace him for that? No.

any thoughts on the fee we received for Randolph trev?

Re: Darren Randolph - Deal agreed
He hasn't signed a new deal, the club held an option for a 2 year extension on his contract which we exercised recently.

Re: Darren Randolph - Deal agreed
Oh well, 1 or 2 years, I'd take £3mil for him, and get Bentley in.

Thought he'd just signed a new deal.

Two years left on Adrian's deal.

Eerie Descent 3:14 Wed Jul 26
Re: Darren Randolph - Deal agreed
Has Adrian only got a year left on his deal?

Might have something to do with it.

To be honest, I'd take £3mil, that's £8mil combined for the 2 clowns of last year, pays for Hart this season and a decent young back-up like Bentley.

Re: Darren Randolph - Deal agreed
Palace want someone who has been a first choice Premier league keeper.
Should be told to read the papers to see what players cost these days.

Re: Darren Randolph - Deal agreed
Sven, if we can get £12m then we're laughing.

Agree if they aren't prepared to pay over the odds like everyone else is doing then no real need to sell either.

Sven Roeder 2:48 Wed Jul 26
Re: Darren Randolph - Deal agreed
Chelsea reserve keeper Begovic was £12m
Palace are being asked £20m for Callum Chambers
Arsenal turned down £10m for Gibbs

Palace can start at £12m and pay £15m cos it's them
If not he starts the season as our no2 keeper

scott_d 2:46 Wed Jul 26
Re: Darren Randolph - Deal agreed
We wont get over £10m for him unless someone in the Prem really likes him.

I think he's a good 'keeper but he's not the kind of quality where another Premiership club would pull out all the stops to sign him.

If he does go though, I'd like to see us sign a young(ish) keeper who will be Hart's understudy this season with potential to play net season if we don't try and sign Hart permanently.
